The first measurements done in ALICE are based on the so-called 'cocktail' method, which is described in very big detail in the first publication listed above (inclusive analysis in pp@7 TeV). In 2013-2014 we have further developed a second method, based on the reconstruction of the photonic background with an invariant mass method. This is described in the HFE p-Pb note (attached here).
